My favorite movie of all time is Forrest Gump. The Shawshank Redemption is a close second, but I am committed to the idea that Forrest Gump is the best movie ever. I’ve found that once you commit to something, it is a lot easier to be passionate about that thing. I love Forrest Gump so much that in 2006, I spent all of September and October growing my hair out so that I could shave it back down to look like Gump for Halloween. I then sat on a bench on for four hours, passed out chocolates, and told stories. I’ve always been a big fan of storytelling, and I’m terribly excited about the opportunity to help tell yours.
Your wedding is going to be perfect (more about that later) In the meantime, I am a lot more interested in who you are and why you are getting married in the first place. Of course, that is not to belittle all of the details that go into planning such a tremendously important event; I just believe that telling the story of your marriage carries a bit more weight than simply showing up on your wedding day to film the start of your story together.
I’ve been working in film in some form or fashion for about thirteen years now. More importantly, Baysinger Films has focused primarily on weddings and events since 2011. We’ve won ‘Best of Weddings’ by The Knot for five consecutive years, and we’ve also won the Wedding Wire Choice awards for four straight years. In 2015, The Knot elected Baysinger Films to their Hall of Fame, making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
In 2015, Baysinger Films was stretched to the max to keep up with demand, so we expanded to bring a handful of incredible folks on board to better serve you (yes, YOU!) You’ll meet the whole team below.
That being said, our job is to tell stories. More specifically, our role is to tell your story. We'll tell you a little bit more about our purpose when we hang out over coffee, dinner, putt-putt or ice cream. Like any real friendship, our hope is that we don't limit ourselves to a simple vendor meeting; our hope is that we can be deliberate and intentional about creating the best story possible.
ASSOCIATE VIDEOGRAPHER // EDITOR
Hi there! In addition to shooting stills with with my amazing wife, I’ve been filming with Baysinger Films since 2013.
I pour my heart and soul into the stories I tell. I want you to feel at home in front of the camera. I want to hear your story, what you’re passionate about, what you love about each other. I want to get to know you well enough to call you friends. I love authentic emotion, big celebrations, and intimate backyard gatherings. I’m inspired by the coming together of people, and the cheering on of a new chapter.
I love nature and all things green & growing, as well as good coffee and great music.
My wife and I love to travel and we are always dreaming up our next adventure. We make our home in the midwest but are always eager to capture stories in new cities. I love and live for Jesus; we create because he first created.
LARS & BEKAH HANSON
ASSOCIATE VIDEOGRAPHERS // EDITORS
We met at Kansas State at a swing-dancing event on campus. Bekah was beautiful, kind, and full of grace (says Lars), while Lars is tall, handsome, and absurdly goofy (says Bekah) We only danced together for 3 minutes, but Lars could feel the love of Christ pouring out of her in their conversation. Lars went and told his roommate, “I found the person I want to marry!” Less than 2 years later, we tied the knot!
Lars started working with film when he was in 2nd grade. He used his parents’ old camcorder and would shoot videos with his friends dunking on a 6-foot basketball goal. His passion for film grew as he started making videos for churches, local businesses, and for entertainment. We shot our first wedding together shortly after we got engaged, and we were overjoyed to see the clips pieced together in a way that told a story full of sentimental moments, genuine excitement, and true love.
We love life because Christ first loved us. He gives us motivation and purpose every day. We were created because he is creative, and we believe that our creativity is nothing more than an outflow of his.
