I'll never forget when a good friend and mentor of mine got married July 1st, 2006. He was the first of my close friends to receive his bride, and it is still one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I'll be the first to admit that I got a little bit teary-eyed. I was not sobbing by any means - I definitely could have played it off as allergies if I wanted to, but it was the first time I had really thought about how beautiful it is to be a part of a wedding ceremony. I think we take them for granted. There is something holy, hopeful, and inspiring about taking vows together, and I hope that I never become jaded to seeing true love and beauty in the union of marriage.
Fast forward 9 years later, and I have certainly seen my fair share of weddings. I was lucky enough to knot up with a fine little lady who is way out of my league (and I mean that I'm still in T-Ball and she's in The Big Leagues. It really doesn't even make sense). Even though I've been a film guy for about 13 years, I didn't go full force into this wedding thing until 2010. Originally, I thought that I was going to have to scrape by and convince people to hire me for a few years, with hopes that I might be able to build a hobby that paid for itself by 2013 or so. I posted my first legitimate wedding video online April 23rd of 2011, and I was receiving calls to book weddings within 12 hours. Within a year, I was named a Kansas City Best of Weddings selection by the wonderful brides and grooms on TheKnot.com. I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve some incredible folks as they celebrate. I'd love to grab a cup of coffee and talk about your wedding plans - please don't hesitate to contact me!
